DMCA Policy

GeoTalks respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (“DMCA”),GeoTalks will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement committed using the Site.
1. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that content on GeoTalks infringes your copyright, please send a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated Copyright Agent at:

2. Required Information
To be effective, your DMCA notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it on our Site (e.g., a direct URL).
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
3. Our Response
Upon receipt of a complete and valid DMCA notice, GeoTalks will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content promptly (typically within 5 business days)
- Notify the content provider, if applicable, that the content has been removed
- Provide the content provider with an opportunity to submit a counter-notice
4. Counter-Notification
If you believe content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to dmca@geotalks.in containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the removed material and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which GeoTalks may be found)
5. Repeat Infringers
GeoTalks will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
6. Misrepresentation
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be subject to liability for damages. Please ensure your DMCA notice is accurate before submission.
7. Editorial Content Note
If you believe any article published on GeoTalks reproduces your copyrighted work, please include as much detail as possible in your DMCA notice — including the specific article URL and the original work — so we can investigate thoroughly.
